Happy Summer All!! It has been pretty busy around here. As you know from my previous Blog, we are in the process of looking for yet another Broker Dealer. I think that our choices have been narrowed down to two. I will let you know what we decide in the near future. Our industry is at a constant influx. Now the big Broker Dealers are buying the smaller ones to grow their assets under management. It seems the more I fight this change by going to a smaller Broker Dealer, the more they get taken over by the big guy. I’m starting to think that BayBFP has a target painted on it. I will probably decide by early August as to where we will be hanging our hats.
Now I know that you all have been wondering whether I’m playing softball this season. Well, Of course I am. I got drafted by the team I played for last year. I hate to say it but we are horrible. We have found more ways to lose a game than win one. Right now, we are in the cellar of our division. I’m too embarrassed to tell you, our record. Let’s just say it is “Paper bag over head” ugly.
But I’m still having a great time and thankful that I can still play at a good level. Also, playing in the outfield gives me a chance to think about our league. For instance, my team is sponsored by a company named Kaleidoscope. They print signs and uniforms. You would think that we would have jerseys with tie dye colors or bright shirts at the very least. Nope, we wear these drab gray shirts with black lettering. They are easily the ugliest uniforms in the league. (What’s up with that?) Finally, you know you’re in the Senior league when one of the team sponsors is a hearing aid company…
As you know, the market has been pretty steady so far this year. Everyone is seeing steady growth in their accounts. Inflation has settled down and the Feds are even discussing cutting interest rates. I think the year should continue the way it is going, and we should all be in better shape at the end of the year.
I hope that you all have a great July and stay cool and safe.
Thanks for reading my blog.
