Summer Shakeup Lowdown

July 14, 2025

Happy Summer!! It is now mid-July as I am writing this. I’m sorry that this one took a while, but we have been busy with our transition to LPL.

As you know my broker dealer was bought out by LPL last February. When I received the news, I looked for the nearest window to jump out of. (OHHHH NOOO here we go again!!!) But my trusty office manager talked me off the ledge by pointing out that I really wasn’t that high up and so I would probably just break a bone or two.

I think I mentioned in a previous blog that dealing with a new broker dealer was like dealing with a military recruiter. They promise you the world and you end up with less than they promised. I have to say that this transition has been a surprise. Once I got past the front-line people, the rest of the staff has been great to work with. Especially compliance. (who would have thought) I have to say that the people that I have been dealing with, have gone above and beyond with their help. We are now waiting for our accounts to populate, so my clients can start seeing their money and can feel more secure knowing I’m not in Mexico drinking Margaritas.  Hopefully we will be at full speed again by mid-Summer.

Now as the market is going, I think it is doing about what I thought it would do. I still think it is going to be a bumpy ride for the balance of the year but will finish higher than it was when the year started. I also feel that Tech is still very viable as well as Large CAP Domestic Growth. So be patient and don’t panic. We are still on the “roller coaster” and most likely be for the balance of 2025.

Finally, I know that you are all wondering about my softball team. Well, we stink!   We have compiled a record of 2-15. There are many reasons for a team to bottom dwell. I’m really not sure why we are, but there it is. I mean, on paper, we have a lot of good players, but you can’t win games on a chalk board. Maybe it’s the uniforms, they are probably the nastiest looking in the league. But I’m being optimistic because we still have about ten games left and maybe we will build some momentum heading to the playoffs. So, keep your fingers crossed.

I hope that you all have a great July and are able to take some time off. You know, go to the beach, watch a ball game, (Not ours!) or just enjoy the heat and sunshine. The season is so short.

Stay safe.
